The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) and Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) are home to world class collections and are just a short walk or transit ride away. Toronto’s Ripley’s Aquarium features more than 16,000 aquatic animals and North America’s longest underwater viewing tunnels. It’s also open until 11pm most days.

  • ACCOMMODATIONS top

    The 2018 Conference will be held April 16-17, 2018 at the Toronto Marriott Eaton Centre Hotel, in the heart of downtown Toronto. The Hotel is located at 525 Bay Street with easy access to the Toronto subway (Dundas Station), Eaton Centre, restaurants and major attractions. All Conference sessions, meals and functions take place at the Hotel.

    A block of rooms for 2018 ONCAT Conference delegates has been set aside at the following rate: $194 single/double per night (+ applicable taxes)

    As per ONCAT’s travel policy, travel costs (transportation, accommodation, etc.) will only be reimbursed for institutions/organizations 65km or more away from the event venue, and only for the Monday night. Note that delegates are encouraged to make their reservations as soon as possible. The cut-off date for ONCAT Conference reservations is March 26, 2018. However, rooms may not be available at that time if the block is sold out prior to March 26, 2018. Book your reservation early! If rooms are available after the cut-off date, reservations will be accepted only at the prevailing rate of the day.

  • All reservations must be accompanied by a first night room deposit or guaranteed with a major credit card. The Toronto Marriott Downtown Eaton Centre Hotel has a limited number of rooms available for early arrival (prior to April 15) or late departure (after April 17) at the Conference rate, on a first-come, first-served basis.     PHOTOGRAPHY/FILMING CONSENT top

    Please note: Parts of the 2018 Conference may be photographed, filmed, and/or otherwise recorded throughout its duration. By entering the event premises, you consent to being photographed, filmed, and/or otherwise recorded and to that material’s release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for informational and promotional purposes, including on websites, social media, or any other purpose by ONCAT and its partners.

    You release ONCAT, its officers and employees, and each and all persons involved in the Conference management from any liability and/or payment or royalties connected with the taking, recording, digitizing, or publication and use of photographs, computer images, video and/or or sound recordings. You also waive any right to inspect or approve any photo, video, or audio recording taken by ONCAT or the person or entity designated to do so by ONCAT. You have been fully informed of your consent, waiver of liability, and release before entering the event.

    Should you wish to not appear in any of the media as listed above, please email conference@oncat.ca letting us know, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.



    TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT top

    Please submit the Direct Deposit Form, Expense Form, and all related original receipts (mail hardcopies) to ONCAT by Sunday, May 6th, 2018 for processing. All expenses received after that date will not be processed.
